21 21 21 21 21

At 9:21pm (or 21:21) on Monday 12/21/21 (or 21/12/21) it was the 21st minute of the 21st hour of the 21st day of the 21st year of the 21st century.

That's pretty unreal.

It hit me personally also because 21 is my favorite number, for so many reasons. It’s my first go-to number when I need to choose one.

12/21/21 was also the winter solstice, the shortest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere (which is also the longest night).

On that day, the sun appears in its most southerly position over the Tropic of Capricorn (my sign!! ♑️)…and that means the North Pole is furthest away from the sun.

Of course, that never stopped Santa and Mrs. Claus from working their magic.

Ancient cultures marked the solstice as the sun’s symbolic death and rebirth, viewing the death of the light as a chance to celebrate the return of the sun and the hope for new life.

That’s a lesson I want to bring into my own life.

That in the darkest moment, we can trust that the light returns and try to celebrate that promise.

Even if it’s hard.

12/21/21 also happened to be the one year anniversary of my expanded website!

That was the day I nervously announced my website to family and friends and decided to shift full time to what was once my side hustle.

I decided to take on coaching and writing as my raison d’être and, despite my nagging inner critic, full-blown imposter syndrome, and the swirl of other destructive emotions that surface when you take a leap of faith into the unknown…it worked.

I’ll be adding new products to my website in 2022 - think energy assessments, parenting workshops and a playbook to help you boost your positivity with more play in the new year.

I cannot wait to share them with you!

Until then, enjoy the final days of this wild year, this 21st year of the 21st century. Hold onto the ancient wisdom.

When you feel the darkness approach, trust that the light always returns.

With fierce love,
Alison
